From November 3 to 16, Oktopus will be touring in Europe, with concerts in Brussels, Ettelsburck (Luxembourg), Paris, Vienna and Zilina (Slovakia)

The video ‘‘Wiegala’’, produced by Oktopus in January 2022, wins ‘‘People's Choice Award’’ at the Bubbe Awards 2023, given by the Institute of Jewish Musics of Brazil for ‘‘Best video of a Jewish song’’.

SLOVAKIAN RADIO PRIZE
Oktopus receives the « Special prize for the most creative fusion of ancient and contemporary music traditions », given by the Slovakian Radio. It’s a first prize for the Canada in the history of this international competition.

OKTOPUS RELEASES ITS SECOND ALBUM HAPAX
Hapax is the result two worlds colliding, a cathartic meeting between the klezmer music of Ashkenazi Jews and the Québécois and Canadian heritage that surrounds us, both of these genres welded together by the influence and skill of each individual musician. Here, the arrangements of traditional music mesh with unlikely sources of inspiration ranging from a “Balkanized Brahms” to a ska-dancing Félix Leclerc. The beautiful voices of Jorane and Karen Young also largely contribute to give this album its unique colour by drawing creativity from various sources, all the while remaining resolutely anchored in our native province.
